While studying full time in China in 1996 and 1998, as well as during four shorter-term visits, he researched Classical Chinese Medical Texts on a doctorate level, and was nominated by Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as 'A Master Herbologist'.

A member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Council of Infertility information Dissemination (INCIID), and other similar organizations, he serves as a specialist advisor to the magazines Achieving Families and Infertility Times.
